What if Chrissy thinks she is named for Christmas, but was actually named for being the Chrysalis?

Just a theory :P

Well, I'm digging this from the graveyard (not that it ever got too deep into the topic though *lol*) but what the heck.

Just a thought. Chrisy's Chrysalis was inserted magickally rather than surgically into her frtontal lobe. We've been presuming that Charon's Parents must have had something do do with a cult for Nodens and gone through a ceremony. They died so no-body was able to understand that her brain should not be scanned, or she may go crazy and get pregnant at some point.

What if she simply stumbled across some old temple or magickal item and it activated, inserting the Chrysalis and driving her mad? We believe the Chrysalis activated early and it left Charon with some of the powers, rather than giving them all to Becka. Big P seems to think that the Chrysalis needs to be inserted into them during their youth, so maybe the reason for it's "misfire" is it was inserted late.

Just a thought.

Okay, I'll answer this much.

Christmas is actually named after the holiday. There is a story behind her name. (When I say story, I mean an actual story. Not an excuse dodge.)

Charon... Just one thing I want to point out. She was found wandering the DESERT. Not many deserts in the New England area. That's mostly out in the western United States. So water and fish monsters might be a bit hard to come by... But isn't there a very spiritual culture that comes from that area of North America with it's own very defining legends and myths?

Which desert?

IIRC the Pueblo Indians inhabit most of that area, and have a heritage as old as any European culture.

One of the first on the list and I stumble upon the concept of Matrilineal cultures.

(This relates to the Mitochondrial Eve thread)

These are cultures where the family unit is centred around the mother rather than the father, or inheritance of a title follows females rather than males (although the title may still belong to a man only. e.g: the son of the king's sister is next in line to the throne rather than the king's own son).

There are a few NA tribes who's society is based around this so it's likely one of these.
Hopi
Tlingit

Or another that I'm yet to discover.
