Forum etiquette

Postby Mach Sabre on Sat Nov 22, 2008 11:11 pm

As we have gotten more people here over the year, it's come to my attention that not everyone knows our forum rules and etiquette here. We don't got many. In fact, we've got only four rules. So for the record, here they are:

Rule #1: No hateful comments. Y'all aren't stupid. You know what that means and implies. If you don't, then you really have no place being on the internet. Just be cool to each to other. If you are so socially inept that you cannot say something to another person without being disrespectful, demeaning or insulting... Then don't say it.

Rule #2: Keep the language and content PG-13 or lower. Yes, we're all mature here and it's not like we haven't heard the F-word in real life. But regardless keep it to a minimum. I mean, if you're in a discussion and you accidentally let it slip or something, like in your RPG game or in a prose or whatever. Fine, that's cool. We're not going to go all "forum-nazi" on your. Just be mindful, okay? Kids do read this comic.

Rule #3: Same goes for explicit conversations about sex. Considering the characters and the cheesecake stylizations of the "artist"... The topic is bound to come up. Sexually explicit subject matter should be handled with maturity. (Or a reasonable facsimile of it.) But talks of pedophilia and stuff like that... Keep that crap way the hell off of here! I'm not even slightly exaggerating on that one!

Rule #4: Political and religious discussions... All right folks. This one I'm gonna be a dick about. I'm sorry. I've been on too many forums and seen those forums turn ass ugly because of religious and political discussions. For the most part, people can handle it with no problems. However, religion and politics are the two topics that people take personally. All it takes is one whiny little bitch who gets offended, or one inconsiderate pompous asshole with no social skills to egg it on, saying something like "I'm only answering honestly" and this place turns ugly. So I ain't taking a damn chance here. Political and religious discussions are a "no."

Now, we're pretty flexible with the rules, except for the fourth one. We'll handle each incident on a case by case basis. For the most part, we'll just let it slide... The forum members here are pretty mature, and they're pretty good at moderating themselves. So just play cool with the older kids, and everything should be fine.

Thanks!
