I don't know about that. See, as long as it's used in parody (which this could be construed as), which is protected speech in the good ol' US of A, they wouldn't need permission from the creators.
For example: "Weird Al" Yankovic doesn't REQUIRE the consent from Michael Jackson or Eminem or who-have-you to make goofy versions of their songs. He does get it, however, because that's just the kind of guy he is.
And I believe the Yeti is another term for the Abonimable Snowman, which as far as I know (which isn't much, admittedly), is just a Bigfoot for colder climes. Still, there is a distinction between the two.
