The question has been raised as to who is our most popular character.
And if you're going to vote, please let us know why you did.

So let the voting begin!

I'll freely admit there was no questioning who I voted for. Charon.

If there's one thing I love it's a strong woman. Independence, strong personal opinions and motivations, stands on her own two, and manages the single hardest full-time job in the world - being a single parent. Becka's intelligence and well-balanced nature if anything is testament to the good job Charon's done as a parent, and if the only thing anyone can judge her on is her liking a drink and being somewhat morally-casual, damn, she's doing better than some supposed model parents. Look at the bang-up job Miss Gala-Planner did with her kid (ok, she has had circumstance, psychological issues and birthright working against her... and I still have sympathy for Christmas :) ). Charon is a good mother, a firm hand, and when required a force of nature not to be messed with - like all good mothers, actually.

For that reason alone Charon is my favorite hands-down... that and my well-documented love of women in glasses. Rawwwwwrrrr ;)

I voted because you asked so nicely ;)

Just kidding. I had to go for Becka because she has the best personality in the story. She's quiet and unsure and shy and self conscience, determined, brave and strong-willed and is able to look past the faults of her mother to allow them to have a really open and loving relationship. Although it was really hard to just choose one. I think I would choose Lindsey second just for ass-kicking reasons alone. Charon's close at 3rd for all of the reasons that Mondo Kane stated. The rest of them, I all like equally. Even if they are people I would hate, they are still great characters for their own reasons.

I voted for Becka, but you guys don't make it easy. I'd have had a better time of it if you had asked me to pick my least favorite character out of the bunch- even the bad guys are interesting!

I do what I can, when I can.

I voted for the Big P. From the first instance I saw is grizzled mass I thought he looked awesome. Then as his character developed to show us that he has a huge belief in honour I like him even more. Part of that is because I have always had a fondness for wanting to play a 'monster race' DnD game where you are a good aligned party trying to make a name fo r yourselves to escape the racial prejudice you would end up facing.

I voted Lindsey. I don't know what it is but I tend to just love the hero characters with no power other than their own awsomeness. Probably why I love Batman as a hero 'cos he doesn't rely on a big show of powers to bring in the fan's cheers, he just suddenly appears from the darkness behind some clueless crook and everyone is left thinking "you are so gone dude!"

Same with Lindsey. If she's taking you on... be afraid... be very afraid (I can't imagine what went through Fides' head when she was threatened into helping).

I thought about voting for snowball (the cat's name I think) but it hasn't actually done anything awsome yet. We just kept thinking it would (Although It may still, since I'm betting it went down to the morgue with Snow and the M.E.). If I wanted to vote on a character for potential awsome, I'd have Picked Mrs. Gill (That woman is serious evil waiting to happen. FEAR HER!)

I voted for Lindsey for only one reason. She took on a blood watch member, survived and even went and took on another one. Isn't that awesome? Well, the last one was with a little help but that kicks a$$ as well. I have no issues with the other characters since I like all of them even the villains. I also thought about voting for the Big P but from another point of view, it seems Lindsey's character development's been on the lead during the last few weeks (?) and it really reveals alot of her side than the others and she's a role model for the insiders who are fighting a good fight against Mother H and Father D.

Robin Laws, one of my favorite small press RPG designers, ran a Play by Blog game called Angles and Insiders (IIRC) where he successfully proved, over the course of two years, that running a character by polling for his next action was a very effective way to simulate schizophrenia.

You should realize by now that of you put a joke answer, it will be in the top 3. If you make it a hard poll with a joke answer, the joke will win.

I voted for Becka. I just love that girl. She puts up with all of the shit that life throws at her without a blink, and then still thinks that the world is worth saving, in spite of it all. She has a good heart, but she is stubborn, in her own way. She refuses to let anything stop her from doing what is right, even if it might cause her pain or death. That's the kind of girl I'd like to be friends with.

Took me a while to decide, but I've settled on Lindsey.

She's not perfect (ie setting up Becka at the rave) but she's realized her mistakes and is making up for them - taking a hell of a beating in the process. Being 'powerless' (as in super powered) is significant. She's the everygirl who takes things into her own hands.

Rock on Lindsey.

Sorry, I had to vote for Big Purple. I love when a character who's supposed to be the bad guy shows that while he might not be a hero, he's far from the worst apple in the barrel. He stole the favorite spot for me when he proved that he was so much more than a mindless killing machine who didn't know how to do anything but follow orders.

And yes, guilty. If I had the option to vote for a second favorite... it would have been the cat. :P
