I'm making my sad, sad little attempt, but considering it's already the 12th and I'm only about 10,000 words in... I seriously doubt I'm going to make it :)

In this case, it's the journey that counts, not the goal.

I couldn't get to my computer on teh First, so I started writing it on my cell phone. I made it 2000 characters.

Yeahhh.. *found out about it on Nov 14* Haha, well thanks for the heads up.

We'll see how it goes. I really don't think I'll be able to make it (college=killer), but I may use it to inspire me to set a personal writing goal... of say, getting my story done that one friend never shuts up about, despite it only being 6 pages long so far. I donno, we'll see.

But I am keeping this bookmarked, and remembering it for next year! And maybe trying this year... we'll see!

The thing that scares me is the "quantity not quality part". My writing needs editing. No, seriously. Half my stuff on my computer is unedited, and I do actually love going back and reading it and editing it... and it needs it... badly. :D But we'll see...

Have courage. Two months ago, I would have laughed if someone told me that I was going to write 50,000 words in November - a school month; now I'm up to 32,000. It's not 50,000, but I'm getting there.

Yet another reason to be glad I managed to kick my addiction to my 'second job that I have to pay to go to'. Sure, Northrend may look all big and shiny now, but after ten hours of hunting Snow Murlocs to collect their heads, which for some reason they don't all drop, I'm willing to bet it'll lose its luster  .

Oh, of course.

And now that people have deathknights heading to 80 it's going to be interesting with all the gangking and stuff.

I had been in the process of writing a book meant mostly for younger readers when my computer died-erasing all of it.

I had over 200 pages and now I can't seem to rewrite.

urg.

My fault though, I never backed it up.

:(

Awe, I'm sorry. I always keep around 3 backups of any stories i write since I have bad luck with computers failing. But I know your pain, since I lost tons of data before doing backups...

And may I add, your signature.... the Eddings are my favorite author duo.

I've written more on my RPG character's backstory than I have on the story I was supposed to write... maybe I should just use that instead...

Well, I had written a 50 page sr. thesis ont hat computer too. I could have sworn I had saved it to a flash drive. Only I couldn't find my flash drive to prove and, my computer died only after I emailed my prof and asked him if he had gotten the paper I had sent 2 months prior.

I get a response: no. when did you send it?

I had to rewrite the entire thing.

I scraped through, and now I'm the proud owner of a 50,009 word manuscript.
