Yep, that's about the size of it for me, and he can't exactly say which he likes anymore, so we end up having to trust 3rd-party sources as to which he did and didn't allow into his universe - and then, we end up with things like Cthulhu's good-aligned brother.![]()
Actually, he can (sort of). He wrote tons of letters, which can tell us a lot. Some of them were recently published in book form. I haven't picked it up, but I plan to. Oh, and I can't quite swallow Cthulhu having a good aligned brother, either.

Heh... it's certainly quality, and I do love a good story, but it'll never be canon for me.
It probably won't be canon Cthulhu for me, either. The Dave's have done that time honored activity, taking a good thing and making it even better - and their own. Shadowgirls will probably be their own canon. I hope that will happen, anyway.
