Your Superhero Costume

Postby Charles on Thu Dec 04, 2008 5:31 pm

Got this idea from MachSabre's Deviant Art page but here's the go.

Imagine you (yes you, not your rpg character or someone) had superpowers and became a superhero. Now it's time to develop your own superhero costume.

Use one or both of the hero creation machines below or, if your skills are good enough, draw it yourself.

Rule 1: It must be you, not your family, friends or imaginary character.
Rule 2: Not every body type is covered, so you may presume that you trimmed/buffed/shaped up for hero work.
Rule 3: Its a costume. You're not the Scooby gang in plain clothes, you're a superhero.

That sounds like a challenge to me!

Image

I like dark colors and battle axes, lightning powers is just bonus.

I'll kick this up a notch with an optional bonus; Create your archvillain!

Image

Well it has to be a she because I'd have no problems planting an axe in a dude's forehead.

EDIT

Just got a City of Heroes Trial account, so I rebuilt my super-hero there.

Here's me as a superhero. Not really sure what my Superhero name is, but I'm pretty sure my power is Empathy, with occasional forays into telepathy. Note the trusty canine companion. :)

Here's my ArchNemesis, LadyLuck. (A bit of irony never hurt. :))

And my arch nemesis:

NUADA, first leader of the cult of Nodens
Image

Once the leader of the cult of Nodens, Nuada gave his own child up to bare the Chrysalis of the Shadowchild but when his daughter died during the birth he struck out at the shadowchild in grief. Within the Temple of nodens himself, the shadowchild was able to deliver a single strike that took his left arm, despite it's infancy. Nuada fled, but took with him the Claíomh Solais (Sword of Light). His brother would later find him and forge him a new arm made from a good portion of stolen 'blood' from the shadowchild. With no phycal mass, the arm is able to form into almost any single shape, extending, expanding and reforming to shield Nuada or strike a blow for him. He gathered an army and attempted to attack the cult of Nodens, eventually coming face to face with the now mature shadowchild herself, but during the battle the shadowchild was able to recognise it's own blood and suddenly, Nuada's own arm turned on him and encased his body, holding it in a perpetual stasis. Thousands of years later, he has been awakened. His knowledge of the Elder God's magick is great and despite opposing them now, he is still able to access a good deal of their magick thanks to the Sword of Light.

Sword of Light: Nodens took from the abyss all the light there was, but he did not destroy it, for without light there can be no shadow. Instead he forged a mighty blade known as the Claíomh Solais or Sword of Light.

Let me introduce you all to Canis.

Image

Canis has felt a connection with dogs pretty much all of her life, but she didn't realize how deep that connection went until she stopped a drunk neighbor's abuse of his child by convincing his own dog to turn on him. Since then, Canis and her pack have spent their days using her powers for good, fighting crime, working for justice, and MOR RAWHIDE CHEWIES- What? Jesus Christ on a bicycle, Roland, is there nothing you don't get into?

If we're going to ignore the fact I'm 300 pounds, and get winded climbing two flights of stairs, then adding 4 inches to my hair shouldn't be an issue, and we're right back to my character.

I ignored my own weight and the fact that I get winded dancing for more then three seconds no matter how many pretty girls are dancing with me. I think we can let that slide.

Now get creative!

I'm working on it, if I can ever find the time. Of course it took me 6 weeks to get my character bio and graphic on the right forum...12 weeks or so to change my avatar...ok, I'll probably get around to this about August 2010.
