T'KA ZUGGARAMA ROBERT "Dark Queen Rising Part 4" - SEQUENCE

Postby Charles on Tue Feb 17, 2009 9:17 pm

This forum topic concerns the scene/sequence beginning with Dark Queen Rising Part Four

Well, the last thread got locked, and this is supposed to be the longest scene/sequence anyway so *shrug* it can have two threads to it.

Deep One Prime aka Big Purple is... Robert Olmstead. The narrator and main character for Lovecraft's "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". Considering some of the other differences between the Mythmaker's Deep Ones and Lovecraft's, it's probably safe to say that there are some differences to the SOI tale as far as Deep One Prime's case is concerned. If the whole 'change' beginning at the age of 30 is still true, then it'll be interesting to see if Chrissy begins to experience some changes in her behaviour towards the cult and the other Deep Ones (i.e. obedience and respect) or if her shapechange spell to make her human will wear off.

Robert Olmstead 1897-2007

I think we got oppressed... :D

Ah well. Poor Robert. You might live a hundred and ten years, but life is still too short. *Sigh* there goes a great character that deserved all the love he got and then some.

I'm still worried that he's suddenly going to come back to life before the end of the series and it's another major character they plan to kill off.

But really, I think they've rounded him off very nicely to his final rest. I was imagining him as taking over leadership of the Deep Ones and leading them back to the oceans after Mother Hydra was defeated but with his loss, they Progenitors and other Offspring will continue to be used as minions in later seasons (presuming that the Mother Hydra entity isn't completely erradicated and can somehow make a return here and there... Serious, I still think she's one of the most awsome female villians out there)

Well, you did lie to us about that text at the top of the previous site redesign not meaning anything...

Really. I don't feel like I can trust you anymore...

Well, maybe you thought it didn't at the time... but that was Robert Olmsted's last testament to the human world. I accidentally did that, myself, a few times.

I'm full of it anyway, and currently taking some pretty strong decongestants. :) Take whatever I say with a grain of salt... maybe a whole shaker.

True...

It was pretty big hint right there that no one got. But it didn't have any significant meaning to the context of the current storyline. :P

Firstly: what line at the top of what page are we talking about? Can someone gimme the line?

Secondly: Was the human form we saw Robbo in his original human form or just a complete, random illusion?

Random Illusion.

Seriously. Do you think Deep One Prime would actually wear a do-rag?

I dunno. The Bean wore a real beanie.

Actually I thought the clothing wasn't part of the illusion/shapechange and tore to bits when they transformed back, (except for the Bean's hat).

But if it was all part of the illusion/shapechange and we presume that The Master cast it on them, then I guess we can just presume that The Master has a sense of humour (Heck, he made one of them female *lol*). He must of given The Bean such a horrible hair-do that he decided to cover it up with that orange hat of his.

*sigh* The Bean looked so awsome when he took his turned his torn-up hat into an eye-patch. Pitty he had to die. Heck, Chrissy is the only significant Offspring character left that we've met in the series so far.

Now a set of THOSE, I might actually buy. The look cool and I don't have to tell anyone what the writing means.
