A challenge raised by MachSabre in the current strip (well, current for anther 40 minutes)

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE THE LAST PAGE OF SHARED DESTINY WILL REVEAL/ENTAIL/SHOW?

My guess... Cthulhu managed to enter the world...

...Actually, with that spell I'm betting they could have plenty of bad ass stuff happen in Innsmouth from now on. They just argue that at the peak of Mother Hydra's spell many beings from alternate realities, dimensions and times, managed to slip through before it was (presumably) stopped and are now attacking the town or biding their time to do so. Heck, you could even argue that permanent damage has been done in the tapestry which will cause it to become a focal point for more to pass into or enter the town over time.

I'm certain that multiple baddies are gonna be sprung from the spell already. My best bet is that the girls will suck Mother Hydra into a shadow realm, potentially meet Nodens, bust her ass up right and proper before coming back to find chaos as Insiders are battling strange creatures from beyond and even bigger ones are going all Godzilla on the place.

After seeing From Beyond though, I hope they don't draw too much from that particular movie/short story. If that's really what they have up their sleeve, for all we know the last set of pages are nothing but the girls in sexy poses talking about how to stop the spell.

i'd say that while the girls were dealing withthe big bads to keep them out of the world, the little bads will have snuck through the cracks. (that would assist with the whole RPG stuff i think, and give an explanation for the increase in paranormal activity)

I don't know where we're ending but I think I see where we're going.

Reality is. It exists because we perceive it to exist as such. There exists also things that shouldn't exist in reality. These things are minor hiccups in the pattern, weak spots in the tapestry. The tapestry serves as a kind of net/blanket to keep those things which should not be safely away from everything. If the Spell goes off, All the old ones are able to come forth, and reality as we know it is unmade. Right now, we've just got all those little things that can squeeze around the edges of the pattern.

Books 2 and 3, ro 4 and 5, will be mop up duty. Also, insiders and RPG players get to do mop up! WHEE!

The real question here is do majic users, both devine and hedge, weaken the ties that bind the old ones with every spell they cast?
