MythMakers Design Log

Postby Ebon1313 on Mon Feb 25, 2008 1:56 pm

Greets All,

D-Rod is insisting that i start distributing some information about Mythmakers.
On the business side, we have the rough framework for our release schedule. Soon I will be sitting down with Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Legge again to put the final touches on our release dates.
On the creative side, I am currently still working though quite a few bits, but we have formulated our "class" roster. Most of the balancing has been completed on the classes as per the True20 point system, though some of the custom abilities that I'm spec'ing out have yet to be realized.

Below is the list of the "classes" for MythMakers:

Adepts-
Witch
Hedge Mage
Nature Mage

Experts-
Ghostcatcher
Archivist
Treasure Hunter

Warriors-
Deviant
Soldier
Daredevil

I know you all will want to know what some of these mean. In the coming weeks, I'll be posting snipets on the specifics of the classes as well as some of the new systems not present in the core True20.

My first reaction is that Shadow Child, or some vairent there in, doesn't appear to be a class. Does that make it a feat set, a prestige class, or a race?

Probably a variant of the Avenging Angel or something. Heck it could be a role.

Then again, its probably more of a curse or something that would be added on top of the class.

So Charon would be a Soldier with a couple of levels in Expert-Mechanic and Becka would be a Deviant, possibly with some levels in Adept (unless Deviant caters for some abilities).

Fides is an Archivist all the way. Lin Lin, Archivist and Daredevil.

I would personally add one more. The plain old normal unpowered human factor. Not quite soldier, but more of a rogue human, not owing allegiance to anyone but himself.

Would that be a daredevil - natural?

BOANERGES - SONS OF THUNDER (John and James)
VERITAS - ROMAN GODDESS OF TRUTH
(Oraculum is latin for oracle, prophecy or "word of god")
Fortis Imperium = fortis (strong, powerful, brave, valiant) Imperium (command, authority, power, control)
Patronus Redemptor = patronus (patron, protector) redemptor (redeemer *duh*)
AKELDAMA - FIELD OF BLOOD (Judas)

DRey: Looked up the manual and it classes Robin Hood under Experts, If he's not a rogue, I don't know who is. I guess there are treasure hunters and Ghost catchers there so thats probably your Rogue section rather than daredevil.

I guess if we use the M&M manual then shadowform Charon would be a template "powerhouse." and Shadowform Becka would be a template mystic

Combine the two for the shadowchild and add the "Cosmic Power" super power... OUCH

Okay lets see if I've got this right.

The roles are:
WARRIOR
ADEPT
EXPERT

and under those you've got Archtypes then backgrounds under them?

Any hint on the bonus skills and feats to those backgrounds?

Something like that, though I've customized the roles. In Mythmakers, the "roles" are:
Mystic
Hedge Mage
Nature Mage
Ghostcatcher
Archivist
Treasure Hunter
Deviant
Soldier
Daredevil

The first three all being variants of the "adept" role; the next three are "expert" roles; and the last being "warrior" roles...
