If you have any other questions that is common enough that we should add on, post 'em here!
1. WHAT IS THE RATING ON THIS BOOK?
A: We consider it roughly a PG-13 book. There's nothing in this book you would not see on Prime Time television. So if you're wondering why certain words are "bleeped", well there's your answer.
2. WHAT IS STARKWEATHER AND MYTHMAKERS?
A: Starkweather is Shadowgirls' sister book. (Or 'brother book' really.) It's D.Rod's other comic creation and it's in the same universe as Shadowgirls. Mythmakers is a RPG that's being developed. It encompasses the concepts laid forth in Shadowgirls, Starkweather and a few other projects we have cooking in our heads. We generally like to call it the Mythmaker Universe.
3. WHO THE HELL DOES WHAT ON THIS BOOK?
A: David A. Rodriguez and Dave Reynolds are co-creators. Rodriguez (D.Rod) is the writer, and Reynolds (D.Rey or something MachSabre) is the artist. We're co-creators and partners in crime here.
4. ACCORDING TO LOVECRAFT, THIS ONE ITEM IS LIKE THIS, BUT YOU HAVE IT LIKE THAT? WHY?
A: We're playing fast and loose with the mythos. For example, in Lovecraft's world, Innsmouth is a dark and dreary town with people who look half dead. In Shadowgirls, it's an idyllic fishing town. Lovecraft wrote his stories almost a century ago. A lot changes in a society in jut a little under a hundred years. We also take the inspiration more from the August Derlith era of the Lovecraft Mythos, who's take was a little more suited for development into an adventure comic.
5. WHY DOES THE DEEP ONES' FACES LOOK LIKE PARTS OF THE FEMALE ANATOMY?
A: I understand that this is the 4chan generation, but trust me, there are plenty of gags and things I slip into the art of the book and I would admit it if I did it intentionally. The Slaads are inspired by the Eucritta Melanolimnetes, a extinct tetrapod from the Carboniferous Era. Their split upper lips are like that so that they can open their mouths wider and not have their lips chewed off by their own teeth due to rapid jaw movements. In short, it's how they look. Get over it. It's not changing.
