What? A bigger dirty old man moment then that is on the way!?

Y'know...something about Mother Hydra's facial expression doesn't seem right. I mean, in the real world, she's all sneer and smirk and such. Here, she looks nauseous; like she had one too many Hannah Montana yogurts and is about to make the grey matter a lot less grey.

This may be a scary thought, but...what if the real Misty was in remission all along? What if the bitchiness was ALL Hydra, embracing the vapid humanity to which she's become fused?

Read today's page at the office and got some very odd looks when I yelled "BOOYAH!" at the top of my voice and started giggling like an idiot... I've got to admit I was starting to get a little concerned for Becka's non-corporeal dignity, but it was all alright much sooner than I expected. Thanks for sparing my nerves

Well, not the power in names thing, but the "it won't scare her anymore" thing. There are many things going on here.

I so wanted to pat Becka on the back today and tell her "Good girl". I doubt we'll ever see her being a victim again.

And I love that we saw her moment of fright, and then she got over it and dealt with the issue at hand. The writing on this just keeps getting better - and DRey outdoes himself with every new page. I still can't believe that a webcomic has me this enthralled every time. Can't wait to see what's next.

You know... I'm a fan but for fear of getting booed at... I didn't actually feel it for these couple of pages. I almost feel like there's supposed to be another page between this one and the last where we see a bit more of a transition from Becka held by toothy tendrils after dropping the dagger and begging for mercy as her shirt is ripped away to suddenly holding the dagger, making a brave statement, slashing her aggressor's crotch (now that she's somehow free of the toothy tendril) and throwing it into Mother Hydra as she calls out Misty's name.

*meh* it's still an awsome outcome but just feels... Abrupt.

I will actually NOT boo Charles and say that I can totally see his point. The goal of those pages was that some of what you're describing is happening off camera and that is part of the Shadowchild's narrative and description of Becka.

However, there was a trigger clue in the last page that is confirmed in the next that parallels a sequence from issue 01 that shows what brings Becka out of herself.

Where she braves up to her situation on her own... With Glowing eyes as Becka now has... Actually thats a point... Becka's eyes are glowing in the dreamlands and she's not merged with Shadowangel... It's her own power.

You're overthinking it some and brushing close on others. If you want more of a hint go back to the bar fight. BUT THAT'S ALL I WILL SAY!!

Like most bullies, Christmas took her friends to that bar because she needed to put Charon down in front of them to feel more important amongst her own peers. Her claim to fame and popularity was to make a show of someone else (Charon). Misty evidently felt like doing the same to Becka although she didn't have the other driving sore point of feeling second place to her as Christmas felt in regards to Jack... Unless...
[spoil]She's jealous of the close relationship Becka has with Charon or... Worse still... Misty IS somehow second place to Becka in Jackson's heart as Christy is second to Charon... OUCH if thats the truth *lol* (Well, I guess she's already felt is with Jackson abandoning her and Christmas to defend Charon

I just thought it was the dagger that caused her eyes to glow, as the glow the same colour.

I'm actually on yet another train of thought... How did Charon know Becka was injured in that last page? Could they have somehow joined spirits and strength in the Dreamlands? *shrug*

Calling Becka's Mom a whore probably didn't help her temper either.

Then again, Tiddilik the frog may be possesing Becka

Yeah, I think it's just Becka. As Shadowangel said Will governs all here and she's as strong or as weak as she believes herself to be. We'll do doubt find out tomorrow what triggered her to snap out of the weak state and into the strong.
