I'm in the same weight-loss boat. I've been doing [a personally customized variation of] Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer for the abs, and it's worked fairly well. Last I checked I was 172 lbs, which is good considering how close/over 200 I used to be. The belly is still there, but I can suck it in and ALMOST pass realistically. When I can, I walk 22-25 minutes to work, then again to get home (one of the few advantages of working where I do).
Aside from that, I've tried to cut back on some stuff. If I have ice cream, it's only once a day if we have it in the house ('cause on days off, I might be tempted to have an ice cream bar in the afternoon, then a bowl of Kemps or Edy's after dinner), I've cut back on cheese since moving to Wisconsin (I-RONY!), and soda ONCE a day, if at all.
I've been trying to eat somewhat smarter. Been eating a lot of roasted garlic Triscuits and if I get a candy bar on a break at work, I try to go for either the Hershey's Dark Chocolate or Almond bars (I hear the whole wheats/grains and monounsaturated fatty acids help you trim the fat). Then there's the acai-related diets I've heard melt away fat, and something about lemon and a used teabag in water.
I was pondering using Xenodrine (available at my local Walgreens). I've used pills and shakes to lose weight before, but I never felt like it took. But now that I'm more physically active, I might get some results. However, a week's supply (21 packets, taken thrice daily) is $25. Granted, I spent over five times that much to get a big, honkin' plastic T-Rex based on a 25 year old design...but still.
Aside from that...I'm mentally beating myself up for lazing away so many days off instead of trying to write some stuff in my and head and not getting in gear to move somewhere. Curse this brain and it's...too-much-thinkifying...ness.
